I work at a family practice clinic and I am newly tasked with being the TB contact person in my clinic. I know I have to fax the completed TB Infection Initial Request for Medication form signed by the patient's provider, along with the report of the chest xray. Then I believe Public Health will contact the clinic when the patient has completed the treatment course and I document that. What else should I be doing? Does the patient require more follow up that I should be responsible for? If this is not an appropriate question for this forum I can contact a TB PH nurse at another time.
