In 2018 I was able to download the report card pdf. I am on the IRL report card site now but cannot find a pdf for the updated report card to download -- everything is online. Can you please provide a web link to it?
Q: Did the migration of the manatees to the Mosquito Lagoon South from the north that had no seagrass cause overgrazing and thus decline of the condition of the manatees?
Q: Why have they stopped sampling at the Loxahatchee tributary? Lack of people to collect samples, lack of money to process the sample?
Q: what about sedimentation or climate change impacts on seagrasses
Is there any influence of the Savannas on the IRL in that area? If not, was there a historical influence?
Savannas Preserve State Park's freshwater marsh is not connected to the IRL.
I don't know Vincent but it can probably be seen in the Hydrological model we developed for the Savannas which covers 1800+ acers.
Perhaps seagrass loss in South IRL--South is more related to propeller damage than water quality.
This was eye opening! Thank you!
Very informative presentation. Thank you.
What actions are appropriate by local County governments to test and identify contaminants that are driving the continued loss of seagrass?
Perhaps the emaciation of the manatees is related to the amount of microplastics they may be ingesting.
The Loxahatchee River District handles the monitoring for the Lox River. https://loxahatcheeriver.org/
How is the SFWMD coordinating with the water sampling done by volunteers for NOAA?
Sue, SFWMD is not coordinating with the PMN program, if that is what you are referring to.
I will be sharing this recording with lots of people. thank you so much!
Thanks Rosemary! please also share the website link for all of our previous recordings.
Will do Vincent!
Vincent, yes, I was asking about the PMN program. Too many different groups are collecting data and not coordinating results.
Sue, I will be reaching out to them again. Need to iron out data access from PMN first, however.
