Will orchids attach to the smoother palm trunks?

Cattelya is also known as the corsage orchid.

I have several orchids in my house. They seem to be doing ok. Is that alright or should I take them outside? I live in Palm Beach County.

That is fine. I bring mine in when they are blooming.

When they are not blooming, I bring them outside.

how do you know if your orchid is dead?

I put my what looks like dead orchids in a "nursery area" which is very shades. You will be surprised what makes a comeback. When roots have no green & all brown and greay - or no green leaves - it's dead.

i need to move an orchid wired to a tree because too much sun. the roots are glommed to trunk and about 2-3ft long. do I just tear them off? or cut the root close to plant?

Don't cut roots close to plant!

Wet down first and peel off tree.

Yes the pups can be separated and will grow on their own.

it is easier to remove the roots from a tree or pot if they are soaking wet. run a hose on it for a while. or put the pot in a bucket of water

Is it necessary to pot in the specific potting mix for particular plant?

I make my own mediums and make 2 different types.

Which do you use?

One for Phals and one for the others.
