I find that the plants in Home Depot and Lowes have much greener leaves than the plants i start from seed even though I buy the seeds from good seed companies. Is it because they use much more fertilizer? Is it the nitrogen that causes the deep green leaves? Is the deep green a good trait to have?

with indeterminant tomatoes when do you remove it? the plant looks ok but not fruiting. in fact we got very few tomatoes. there were little green bugs at the tips. thinking they ate the flowers

I have a very unusual question. we have a well with heavy iron content and also an aireator. When we drain the aireator there is some sludge at the bottom with a rusty look to it. can this ever be applied to any plants to provide minerals or other nutrients?

If you get tomato wilt or fungus due to excessive rain, is it best to get rid of the whole plant or what do you recommend for treatment? I trimmed off visible white fungus infected leaves and used neem oil but the new leaves that grew had the same fungus. What do you recommend?

I actually rooted the suckers, i put them in water and eventually you will see roots grow but you have to change the water every so often, then I planted them in soil. So far its growing.

My biggest problem with my vegetable garden in a raised bed is rabbits. I put a green netting fence around some of it but i can’t put it around anything. Is there any way to deal with rabbits? I put soap around the plants, sliced chillies and garlic and onions but nothing seems to deter the rabbits. They eat all my broccoli, cauliflower, kale, spring onions, garlic shoots, edamame etc.
