I have a problem with the current usage of plastic mesh bags to create oyster reefs. The plastic degrades and creates plastic/microplastic pollution which is a serious problem in our oceans for fish, turtles, and birds. When will the oyster baggers convert to non-plastic bagging, knowing the alternatives cost more?

Can you talk a little bit about what kind of monitoring is done after a living shoreline is installed? What are you looking for and how do you tell if a shoreline is doing well.
