Did the Research Coordinating Group review the RFP that OAWP published seeking research proposals a few months ago?
This a MAJOR issue for vegetable growers in S Florida
Irrigation water is high in calcium and has a high pH
We need studies to look at available phosphorus pools vs. unavailable phosphorus pools. No one is working on this in the entire state.
Phosphorus, BMPs and water quality should be the number one priority in the state
It has already been proven that Mehlich 3 extracts unavailable forms of phosphorus
We need integrated research which requires funding

If IFAS can arbitrarily change from Mehlick I to Mehlick III, then they can just as easily change back or establish another extracting method to better solve problems

Where and when?
Maybe a collaborative approach with research across regions in the state would be more likely to receive funding. Fighting for our region of SWFL seems like we get no where.
Will this meeting be available for review in video after you close?
