Is the newspaper only site currently live or will it be in going in November? I think new college students may be interested as well.

All of these are coming in November.

The newspaper site is brand new! It's the first time the Florida Newspapers will have their own portal.

It will, with the data as downloads. In general, for data, we often recommend Zenodo or GitHub, or other specialized tools, depending on data needs.

On prior statistics, unclear. With this new system up, the old system will be up in parallel (if it stays up) for 6 months. We will have that time to see about best options. This is one of many things for ongoing work and review next year.

I haven't seen a search filter pane yet, will that feature still be included? In current UFDC it always showed up in the left

There are filters on the left for search results. Advanced search is coming up, and includes date searching--new and super cool!

Can you explain or define "genres" and "title sets" on the top page - those terms are kind of jargony...

Genres are library-genres, and was added upon request from stakeholders. This will be cleaned up to a list of ~13 general format terms (and then the term might be updated). We are looking for suggestions!

Title sets are any titles with multiple volumes, so newspapers and serials, and journals. Title sets is the best thing we've come up with for a term. This has been much discussed. We are actively looking for a better term. The page for it does explain the meaning, but we want better ideas!

Is the institutional repository still a collection within UFDC and does it support log in by the creator / self-submission?

Yes, the IR is still a collection. The work this year is all on the patron interface. IR submissions are production, so will be reviewed in a future phase. The current UFDC will still be up, and will be used for that for the time being.

Yes, this will be what comes up for ufdc.ufl.edu. The current ufdc site will become original.uflib.ufl.edu

also, when you click through to "basic search" on the dropdown you get a search box with a dropdown that lets you search by part of the field - could we add that to the main search box? It's only a teeny little dropdown!

Still playing around with the Map Search. Once I get my results from a search, the "Filter By" options don't seem to be working for me.

Text-search is definitely more patron friendly, it's just librarian-unfriendly
