When teaching kids to cook, this is a great way to utilize leftovers or what is available instead of thinking you always have to go the store for new ingredients. Also a lot of people don't like leftovers so repurposing them is a great addition.

As much as we like to inspire our families we work with to cook real food, we all know that packaged foods like mac and cheese are part of the world we live in. Any packaged meal can be made bigger, more colorful and more nutritious by adding 'volume'. Why not try spinach or broccoli in mac and cheese? How about some riced cauliflower in a Hamburger Helper or another prepared meal? Any vegetables can added to canned soup too!
