Into the Garden Virtual Field Trip: Unlocking the Mysteries of Easter Island- The Road to Scientific Discovery
Explore with us as we step Into the Garden, a new virtual event series hosted by Scientist in Every Florida School and Mounts Botanical Garden of Palm Beach County. Scientists will uncover many mysteries in the garden through these virtual interactive trips, which will be live-streamed on Zoom and YouTube.
This event will focus on the process, tools, and ways in which scientists aim to understand our world and unanswered questions we have about it, through the discoveries on Easter Island. This event is geared toward K-12 audiences, but is open to all curious minds.

Carl Lipo
Associate Dean for Research and Programs @Binghamton University
Carl Lipo is the Associate Dean for Research and Programs in Harpur College and a Professor of Anthropology at Binghamton University. Originally from Wisconsin, Carl received his BS and MA at the University of Wisconsin and then finished his PhD at the University of Washington. His research focuses on the intersection of evolutionary theory, anthropology, and prehistory. He has conducted archaeological fieldwork using remote sensing and geophysical techniques in a wide range of locations around the world including the Mississippi River Valley, California, Guatemala, Pakistan and Greece. For the past 15 years, he has worked on Easter Island and in other areas of the Pacific studying the spread of human populations across Eastern Polynesia. He is also an entrepreneur, co-founding AllRecipes.com.
