Florida-Friendly Landscaping Code and Alachua County
The Alachua County Environmental Protection Department and UF/IFAS Extension Alachua County and the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Program invite Homeowner Association (HOA) representatives and homeowners that live in communities with HOAs to a webinar on Thursday, May 20, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Attendees will learn about changes to Alachua County Codes, the nine principles of Florida-Friendly LandscapingTM, and strategies for working together to install Florida-Friendly landscapes.

Alachua County adopted a Homeowner Association Florida-Friendly LandscapingTM Code in April 2019 to encourage resilient landscapes that reduce the need for frequent irrigation and the use of fertilizers and pesticides. Under this new section of the Water Quality Code, HOAs may not prohibit the implementation of Florida-Friendly Landscaping, and new covenants may not require the installation of irrigation.

There is no registration fee. Please register through Zoom. Limited to 500 participants.
