There are over 15 different species of stingray commonly observed in Florida’s waters. Although sting may sound ominous, these “flat sharks” are not aggressive. Stingrays are ecologically and economically important – not to mention incredibly fascinating! Join us to learn more about stingrays in Florida waters and beyond.

Angela is the regional UF/IFAS Extension Sea Grant agent based in Manatee County. Her extension programs focus on fisheries, sustainable fishing practices, and clam aquaculture.
