Designing Virtual Learning Environments for K-12 Learners with Special Needs
This professional development series is designed to reduce stress, fear and anxiety for educators who are working in remote or hybrid environments teaching in K-12 content. Attendees will be provided support using real-world solutions when accommodating ELL/ESE populations in the context of their current online classrooms. Topics will include: virtual classroom management, tracking student progress to drive responsive teaching, tools for effective student/family communication, and technology that works for everyone. The sessions will be conducted in Zoom and focus on integrating these strategies into your Zoom classroom. No technology proficiency is required. These sessions are geared toward developing your online craft and infusing the brilliance you already bring to the classroom with the 21st century tools available to deliver it most effectively.

About the Presenter
Kathryn Vicchiullo Seufert currently teaches English II, III, and IV for FLVS Flex and Blended Learning programs.Recognized for her action research projects centering on student engagement in remote learning using Zoom and ELL/ESE strategies for online learners, Kat strives to serve the development of new and data driven professional development. She began her online education career in 2014 as a Social Science instructor teaching Economics and US Government at FLVS. Kat volunteers throughout Florida as an IEP/504 advocate for K-12 public school families. She is the 2020 Teacher of the Year for her Schoolhouse and was named among the “Top Five Teachers” of the Year considered for the 2020 FLVS Districtwide nomination. Kat is an Alumni of Stetson University earning a BA in English (2001) and a Masters in Ed. Leadership (2019).
