Manatees and Mangroves; Unexpected Consequences of Tropicalization in North Florida - Rick O'Connor

In recent years the occurrence of manatees and mangroves in the panhandle has increased. This has not gone unoticed and brought up some new issues for locals. This tropicalization of north Florida has also opened the doors for some invasive species.

Rick is the UF/IFAS Extension Sea Grant Agent for Escambia County. His programs include topics on coastal invasive and nuisance species, restoring habitat and fisheries, monitoring water quality and biological indicators, and enhancing marine literacy for the community.
